Rickie Williams

Pastor

Rickie Williams

Bro. Rickie was born on August 3, 1956. His parents are James and Lillie Williams.

Bro. Rickie started attending church at the age of 2 weeks at Butler Baptist Church in the Rockledge community.

When he was eight years old, he attended Copeland Gap Baptist Church. At that time, the church did not hold services on the 3rd and 4th Sunday nights. On these nights the family would visit other churches.

They visited Springdale Baptist Church on the 3rd Sunday night of August 1964 (August 16, 1964). It was there that conviction fell on his heart and he was gloriously saved at an old fashioned altar. The pastor (Bro. J. P. Rowan), picked Bro. Rickie up and stood him on the alter and asked him to tell what The Lord had done for him. He said, "The Lord saved my soul and I want my daddy to have what I have".

Bro. Rickie married Frankie Tucker on July 16, 1977. Sister Frankie’s parents are Frank and Mary Tucker.

Bro. Frank is also a preacher and has been the pastor of several churches in the northeast Alabama area.

Resisting the call to preach, Bro. Rickie was ordained as a deacon by the Copeland Gap Missionary Baptist Church in February 1978.

Bro. Rickie announced the call to preach on the 1st Sunday in January of 1980 (January 6, 1980). A week later, he preached his first message at Copeland Gap Missionary Baptist Church.

Bro. Rickie was called to Nobel Hill Missionary Baptist Church in the Sand Valley community as pastor in July1983 and was Ordained as a Missionary Baptist Minister August 1983. He was pastor there until July 1995.

He was then called to pastor Dunnavant Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Leeds, Alabama in December 1995. He was pastor there until April 1977.

Then he was called back to pastor his home church, Copeland Gap Missionary Baptist Church in April 1997. He was pastor there until September 2002.

The Lord spoke to his heart and said He wanted to teach him, so he resigned as pastor and didn’t take another church while he studied as The Lord taught him.

He was called to pastor Providence Missionary Baptist Church (The Hill) November 2004.

Bro. Rickie has had several jail ministries over the years. He had a ministry in Etowah County Jail called the Hope Ministry for approximately 15 years. He now has a ministry in the Albertville city and Boaz city jails, where he preaches the Gospel to the inmates.

Bro. Rickie currently has a nursing home ministry in two nursing homes. He began the Attalla Nursing Home ministry in March 1980. The services there are on the 2nd Sunday of each month at 2:00 pm. He also started a ministry in the Altoona Nursing Home in 1998. The services there are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month a 7:00 pm.

Bro. Rickie started a radio broadcast ministry in 1985. He preached on the radio each Sunday afternoon at 2:00 pm. He is currently involved in a radio ministry with Bro. J. P. Rowan on WBSA 1300 AM each Monday thru Thursday from 4:05 pm to 4:25 pm. Various preachers preach each week, and Bro. Rickie is on the 2nd Monday thru Thursday of each month.

Bro. Rickie and Sis. Frankie do not have children of their own, but were foster parents for 12 years.

Bro. Rickie has always been a Missionary Baptist because he loves the Missionary Baptist Doctrine.
